Experience Michiana show begins third year

On March 19, Experience Michiana, WNIT Public Television’s lively magazine-of-the-air, begins its third year of broadcast. Osted by Gordy Young and produced by Kelsy Zumbrun, Hosted by Gordy Young and produced by Kelsy Zumbrun, it’s been a hit from the beginning and forms a wonderful complement to WNIT’s five other locally-produced weekly programs.
Over 2,000 guests have appeared on Experience Michiana, including South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Marvin Curtis, Dean of the Raclin School of Arts at IU South Bend, John Shoup, Elkhart Civic Theater, Dawn Yarbrough, Harbor Lights TV in Benton Harbor, Al Gutierrez, CEO of St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Maestro Tsung Yeh, Director of the South Bend Symphony and John Hayes, Executive Director of the Dunes Learning Center.
“The program features headline-makers from all over the Michiana region,” said Experience Michiana host Gordy Young. “We interview people in the arts, in cooking and health, and all kinds of entertainment. Where else can you find such diverse interests as Unity Gardens, Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum, Improv at the Kroc and Lincoln’s Traveling Exhibit?” The show continues to feature all the good things to see and do in the region and is supplemented by regular news and weather segments from our partner WSBT-TV.
“We have an amazing variety of special places and things to do,” Gordy continued. “The most important thing I’ve learned is that we are blessed to have so many special people doing great positive things in our area, strengthening our communities, building relationships. As we look forward to year number three, we can’t wait to show you even more wonderful things going on around our area and to meet even more fascinating people that make Michiana such a great place to live.”
Watch Experience Michiana every weekday at 7pm on channel 34.1 and at 8pm on channel 34.2. The Friday episode is repeated on Saturday at 6pm on 34.1.
