Rockford Bayne “Rocky” Bennett, 20, of Buchanan, Mich., passed away Monday, March 3, 2014. He was born March 31, 1993, to Bayne Bennett and Susan (Justin) Derrow. He graduated from Brandywine High School with the class of 2013. Rocky participated in Buchanan’s adult co-ed softball league, adult co-ed floor hockey league, and South Bend softball league.

Rocky is survived by his parents, Bayne and Susan (Justin); three brothers, Bayne Allen (Amy) Bennett, Anthony Olmstead, and John Bennett; two sisters, Sarah Norman and Shannon Winger, maternal grandparents; Betty (Hittle) and Larry F. Shelton, paternal grandmother; Sarah L. Bennett, and step-grandmother; Sandra M. Payne.

He is preceded in death by his fraternal grandfather; Donald C. Bennett, step-grandfather; Daniel E. Derrow and maternal great grandparents Amos and Donna Hittle.

Funeral service for Rocky will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan with Pastor Dan Miller of First Missionary Church in Niles officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, March 7, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Justin and Susan Derrow.
