Sailers received his Doctorate of Medicine from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine on the Grand Cayman Island in 2003, followed by a Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Arkansas Area Health Education Centers-Northwest, (UAMS/AHEC-NW).

Prior to joining CFCN, Sailers spent several years practicing emergency medicine and as a hospitalist physician for Borgess Health and Lakeland HealthCare.

Sailers will be the lead primary care physician at the new Niles Community Health Center (NCHC), which opened Monday across from the hospital at 24 N. St. Joseph Ave., Suite G.

“The addition of this health center to the Niles community will definitely be an asset,” Sailers said. “Not long ago, I served as an emergency room physician in this area. During that time, I noticed an urgent need for more primary health care services, particularly in Niles. The emergency department at Lakeland Community Hospital was frequently overwhelmed with people in need of primary health care.

“An emergency department is not really an appropriate place to seek primary health care services, but many times people have no other choice. Now we will be able to provide them with a choice. I’m very excited by this opportunity to serve the people of Niles in particular, and the people of Southwest Michigan as a whole.”

The NCHC will be open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information or to schedule an appointment please call (269) 262-4749.

Sailers joins Dr. Neil See, Dr. Stephen Miller, Rebecca Kelln, PA-C, Kim Torres, FNP-BC, Dr. Steven Kujacznski, Dr. Ann Traynor, and Crystal Payton, FNP-BC, in providing primary care to residents of Cass and Southeast Berrien Counties.
