Niles begins tune up with win over Rangers

With only one week left in the regular season, it is time for Niles and Cassopolis to tune up for the district tournament.

The Vikings got the better of the deal Tuesday night, easily defeating the host Rangers 68-34.

The game was close for one quarter, but Niles pulled away over the final three to improve to 11-8 on the season.

The Vikings led 19-10 after one, but stretched it to 31-19 by halftime and 49-24 heading into the final quarter.

Emily Gaines led Niles and all scorers with 21 points. Elyse Zimmerman and Kylee Myer both finished with nine points.

Kaylyn Forrest led the Rangers (6-11) with 11 points. Kortenei Suggs added eight.
