Mary F. Storey, 95, of Niles died at 11:55 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles following a brief illness.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1918, in Niles to Lyle Francis and Helen Katheryn (Rogers) Huss. She was graduated from Niles High School, and has lived in Niles all of her life. She was employed in the former Niles plant of Simplicity Pattern Company, in the office of the former Kawneer Corporation, in the office of Meals on Wheels, as a seamstress for the Maurice The Tailor and Falvey’s, both formerly in the 200 block of East Main Street.

Mary was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #360 Ladies’ Auxiliary in Mishawaka, Ind. and the Ladies of the Moose in Elkhart, Ind. She participated in the Niles Home Economics meetings, and enjoyed the Pleasant Hour Club in the Union Church neighborhood. She always had Pomeranians, most recently Tawney.

Surviving family includes her sister, Patricia Mead of Niles; and nieces and nephews, Candi (Michael) Clayton, Cheryl Leslie, Bill (Christine) Huss, Jill (Tim) Copsey and Tim (Diane) Mead.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Willard Huss.

The funeral service for Mary Storey will be at 2: p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Pastor Jack VanArsdall of Niles officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Hills.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mary may be made to the donor’s choice.
