Hayden and his identical twin brother, Hudson, were born on Nov. 7, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind., the sons of John G. Kimmerly and Nicole B. Muir-Kimmerly.

The twins were born almost twelve weeks premature. At birth, Hayden weighed 1 pound, 8 ounces and was 12 and 1/2 inches long.

Hayden fought many battles in his short life, faced several diagnoses, and endured several surgeries. He quickly earned the nickname Superman. It was a title he surely earned.

Hayden spent his entire life hospitalized. Although he never got to come home, Hayden was blessed with the care and support of many nurses, doctors, and respiratory therapists who hold a special place in his family’s hearts.

Despite all the hardships, Hayden was a gentle, happy soul with a smile that was contagious.

Hayden is survived by his parents John and Nicole; his brother Hudson; his grandparents Skip and Karen Muir; his uncle and God-father Nicholas Muir; his God-mothers Jennifer Burke and Erica Joubert; his great grandmother Barbara Smallwood; and a host of other relatives.

Hayden was preceded in death by several extended family members and his family is comforted knowing he is surrounded by loved ones in Heaven.

Hayden’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to Memorial Children’s Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital for the care they provided to Hayden.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday from 5:30 pm to 7:30pm at McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Road, and the funeral service on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at McGann Hay Granger Chapel.
