Dollie was born Feb. 14, 1948 in Hayti, Miss. the daughter of Ernest and Lorene (James) Robbins. Just a few days prior to her 65th birthday, Dollie passed away suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at her home in Sturgis.

Dollie graduated from Hartford High School and Southwestern Michigan College, where she earned an LPN degree. She spent more than 20 years at Sundstrand Manufacturing in Dowagiac and then retired from home health care in 2013.

ddaughter Ava Lynn Oliver all of Hartford. Dollie is also survived by a step-son, Ronnie Jackson Jr. of Sturgis, two sisters, Velva Robbins of Benton Harbor and Rose Henderson of Bangor, a brother Mack Robbins of Lakeland, Fla., numerous nieces, a nephew, other family members and friends.

Preceding Dollie in passing were her parents and two brothers, Clifton and Clet Robbins.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at the Keeler General Baptist Church, where a service to celebrate her life will commence at 2 p.m. with Pastor Efrain Maya officiating. Dollie will be laid to rest in Keeler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dollie’s name may be made to your local humane society.
