Stokes’ shot gives Vikings 48-46 win

OSHTEMO — Gabe Stokes’ basket with four seconds remaining lifted visiting Niles to a 48-46 Big 16 West Division win over Mattawan in boys basketball action at Kalamazoo Valley Community College Friday night.

The Vikings and Wildcats played at KVCC due to the fact that renovations to the Mattawan floor have not been finished.

Stokes’ shot, which helped erase a 13-point four quarter deficit, allowed the Vikings to improve to 3-6 overall. He finished with 13 points.

Niles also got 14 points from Tate Brawley and 10 points from Jeremy Wortham.

Darek Ditto led Mattawan with a game-high 17 points.
