DOWAGIAC — Dan Steven Clark, 60, of Dowagiac passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at St. Joe Regional Hospital. He was born May 3, 1953, the son of Perry Dean Clark and Donna Mae Clark (Neitzel), in Berrien Springs.

He is survived by his family: life companion, Colleen Kimbrell of Niles; daughter, Shelli Haydon of Elkhart, Ind.; grandchildren: Amanda Ellsworth, Kayla Ellsworth and Austin Ellsworth of Elkhart, Ind.; great-granddaughter, Kay’Lianna Ellsworth of Elkhart; brothers: Larry Clark (Chana) of Eau Claire and Jeff Clark (Jeanne) of Berrien Center; and sisters: Linda Preston (Roger) of Eau Claire, Lorayne Clark of Berrien Springs; Debbie Johnson of Berrien Center and Valerie Clark of Berrien Springs. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Schlitt, and his brother-in-law Ricky Johnson (RJ).

He was self-employed and retired from his trade in 2009. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and being creative in his work. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Halbritter Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Niles. A private cremation committal will take place.
