Looking for a little intrigue with your dinner?

The Four Flags Players is offering its fifth annual Hunter Ice Festival Mystery Dinner Theater at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bell Building, 305 Sycamore St., Niles.

Cathy Heide, the director of the theeatre, said the mystery would take place while attendees enjoy their meal. At some point, the audience will be given the opportunity to ask questions about the performance in order to determine who committed the crime. The table that comes up with the correct answer will receive a prize.

“The whole thing is very audience involved,” Heide said. “Actors will mingle with the audience and that is what is really great about mystery dinner theaters — the audience can participate as much or as little as they want.”

The performance is the Four Flags Players’ one and only fundraiser of the year. Heide said while they perform other murder mystery dinners throughout the year, money from those goes to non-profits and charities.

“This fundraiser is extremely important,” she said. “We live and die by the grace of our community and the way they support our troupe. Without the support we can’t exist.”

Dakota Word, who has performed with the Four Flags Players for seven years, is looking most forward to interacting with the audience.

“Because of the nature of the murder mystery things are kind of heightened emotionally,” he said. “There is a lot more interaction, not only between the actors, but between the actors and the audience. It is something I enjoy because being on stage it is often not easy to interact with the audience.

“It’s a great show and I really think the audience will enjoy it.”

The three-course dinner will be provided by Prime Table restaurant.

Tickets are available for $35 per person, and can be ordered on-line at http://www.shop.nilesffp.org. Please specify if a vegetarian meal is preferred.
