Chieftains defeat Three Rivers 56-46

Dowagiac opened up a 10-point advantage in the opening quarter and went on to a 56-46 Wolverine Conference West Division boys basketball victory Friday night.
The Chieftains led 18-8 in the first quarter before settling for an 18-10 lead by quarter’s end. Dowagiac reclaimed a 10-point bulge at halftime (27-17), which it extended to 43-25 heading to the final quarter.
Kyle Solloway led the Chieftains with 18 points, while Brandon Winchester-Jones added 17.
Alex Cottingham scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Wildcats.
