A dark colored Ford Mustang hit a Niles Community Schools school bus around 3 p.m. Thursday on Foundation Drive, near Lake Michigan College’s Bertrand Campus in Bertrand Township.
Ryan Schoonveld, of the Michigan State Police, said the bus contained three high school students and a bus driver. None were injured.
The two people in the Mustang complained of soreness, but refused treatment. Schoonveld said the driver of the Mustang was driving too fast to navigate a curve in the road and hit the bus on the driver’s side.
The driver of the Mustang was cited for speed in these conditions, according to the officer.
