Bobcats improve to 3-0 with win over Bridgman

The Brandywine girls basketball team scored the first 35 points of its game against Bridgman Friday night.

The outcome was never in doubt long before that point.

The Bobcats, playing for the first time since the first week of December, defeated the Bees 56-14 to open up defense of their Lakeland Conference championship.

Brandywine (3-0, 1-0 Lakeland) led 15-0 after one quarter and then 35-2 at halftime.

The second half was played with a running clock.

The Bobcats outscored Bridgman 13-12 in the second half.

Emily Erwin scored a game-high 20 points, which included six of Brandywine’s 13 3-pointers. Alyssa Bolen added 13 points, which included a quartet of 3-pointers.

Michaela Hartline and Tammy Lee scored nine and seven points respectively.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday night when they host Benton Harbor Dream Academy at 6 p.m.
