Donna passed away from natural causes at home in Casa Grande, AZ on Sept. 28, 2013.

She was born on May 6, 1968 in South Bend to the late Bill and Lynn Fickes. Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Chrystal Lynn Newcomer. Surviving are a sister, Julie Downey of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two brothers, Larry and Gary Fickes of Riverview, Fla.; an aunt, Janet Young of South Bend and her grandmother, Dorothy B. Young, also of South Bend.

Donna lived most of her life in South Bend before moving to San Diego for a short while. She then moved to Casa Grande to live with her sister.

Donna was active with Special Olympics while in South Bend where she won several medals including Gold, Silver and Bronze in bowling. Upon moving to San Diego, she became involved with Sports for Exceptional Athletes. She also enjoyed dances at the Logan Center, camping at Camp Amigo in Michigan and animals of all types. She enjoyed collecting miniatures, making jewelry and working with polymer clay. Donna is a very loving and forgiving person who is loved by her family. She is dearly missed.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14th at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Fairview Cemetery. Hahn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
