Rain, chilly temperatures and wind couldn’t keep the inaugural Cassopolis Fall Festival from being a huge success, according to organizers.

The festival attracted 45 vendors to the parking lot behind and alongside the Cassopolis Village Hall.

The rain gave way to mostly sunny skies around noon and the event saw a steady stream of visitors from throughout Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph counties.

“I spoke to every vendor afterward and I asked them, ‘was it worth you coming out here and was it worth your time?’ They all said it was a great time and they would love to come back next year,” Ben Anderson, who helped organize the event said. “That was a big one for me. I also got a lot of comments on Facebook from community members about how it was such a good time.”

With the first Fall Festival just a few days removed, Anderson was already trying to figure out what he would do different for next year or if he would change anything.

A meeting was held Tuesday night at the village hall to discuss the event and to begin making plans for next year.

Anderson was hoping to have a full committee put in place by the end of the meeting.

“It still hasn’t really sunk in yet,” he said. “I’m still trying to take it all in. I have heard nothing but good things, so I am happy with that.”
