Samuel Thomas Devine, 52, of Charlotte, N.C. and formerly Harrisonburg, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6 at Mercy Hospital.

He was born in Detroit Lakes, Minn. on July 18, 1961, and was a son of late Morton P. and Muriel (Decker) Devine. Samuel is a former resident of Niles and Buchanan.

Sam was a member of the Family Worship Center in Harrisonburg. He was an avid auction-goer and loved old cars.

Surviving are four sisters, Mary Joann Drogus of Watervliet, Mich., Mary Lucille Heimberger of South Bend, Ind., Olive Marie Williams of Mishawaka, Ind. And Sherrie Lynn Morris of Bridgewater; three brothers, James Robert Devine of Arizona, George Albert Devine of Niles, Mich. and Shelby Gene Devine of Haughton, La.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

A life celebration will be held Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1999 Morris Drive in Niles.
