Vikings blanked by No. 5-ranked Portage Central

The Niles tennis team dropped an 8-0 decision to perennial powerhouse Portage Central in a Big 16 West Division match Thursday.

The Mustangs, ranked No. 5 in Division 2, completely dominated the Vikings in sweeping the singles flights.

Portage Central lost just five games in singles.

Niles’ Brad and Matt Miller had the most competitive match of the day against Vevake and Sahil Tandon at No. 1 doubles. The Tandons defeated the Millers 6-3 and 6-4.
