The Dowagiac varsity volleyball team was swept by visiting Plainwell 3-0 in Wolverine Conference non-divisional play Thursday.

The Trojans defeated the Chieftains 25-14, 25-9 and 25-17.

The Dowagiac JV volleyball team lost to Plainwell 25-18 and 26-24.

Leading the night with passing was Mara Nelson with six digs and one push. McKinzie Kiggins had seven serves and seven kills. Taylor Hullett had three  serves, four kills, three pushes and one block.

Brittany Malin had three serves, one block and one kill. Alyssa Allen had two serves and three kills. Katie Purlee had three serves. Heather Olson contributed two serves, one kill and two pushes.

The Dowagiac freshmen volleyball team defeated visiting Plainwell Thursday night 2-1.

The Chieftains beat the Trojans 20-25, 25-19 and 15-9.

No individual results were provided.
