Toledo, Ohio — Sara Turner-Smith tied for the team-high in kills (7) as the Owens Tech Express volleyball team upended Lakeland Community College in straight sets, 25-11, 25-21, 25-10, at home Wednesday.

Jazmine Thomas and Tiffani Hobbs each added seven kills, while Stephanie Kipp added six. Ciarra Wirick led the team in assists with 18, while Brandywine’s Jessica Cooper added 12.

Lisa Urbanski had team-highs in aces (2) and digs (20). Wirick (12) and Cooper (11) also contributed in digs. Dominique Yates led the team with four blocks.

 

Notes

The Express are now 6-6 overall and 2-0 in the OCCAC. They won their fifth straight match Wednesday — all in straight sets. Their next action will be this Saturday as they host Columbus State Community College at 12 p.m. before playing Jackson College at 2 p.m.
