Liz was born on February 14, 1947, in Dowagiac, Michigan to Barbara & Earl Dick. She graduated from Dowagiac High School and attended Western Michigan University where she was an English major.

Elizabeth married Timothy Burchell March 5, 1980. Liz and Tim moved to Gulf Breeze Florida, in 1986 where they owned and operated Burchell Publishing Company. The team of Tim and Liz soon became widely known in Pensacola and surrounding areas for their magazines. Their magazines told readers about the history and business climate of northwest Florida.

Liz also loved to paint. She painted many scenes from both Michigan and Florida that decorate homes in both states to this day. Her talents extended into her decorating and design work. Liz loved to go to Shipshewana where she would purchase things at the flea market or auction and turn them into something new and exciting. Elizabeth will be missed, not only for her talent, her smile and her love of life, friends and family, but also for her contributions that she made by using the gifts that Our Loving God had given her.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Timothy T Burchell of Gulf Breeze, Florida, her son Mark Griggs & his wife Melanie her daughter Lisa Owens & fiancée Reed, her son, Lt. Cmdr Martin Griggs & wife Taesha and her step-son Brent Burchell. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; granddaughters Emily Riley & Molly Griggs, grandson Hayden Owens, grandson Bryson Burchell, granddaughters Shelby, Mallory & Riely Bouck and sister-in-law Patricia Keirn & husband Terry one Aunt, Virginia Bontrager and one sister Linda Williams.

The memorial service for Elizabeth Burchell will be held on Monday at the First United Methodist Church 326 N. Lowe St., Dowagiac, Michigan at 11 am.

A funeral service was also held in Gulf Breeze, Florida at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church on Tuesday September 3, 2013.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the First United Methodist Church 326 N Lowe St., Dowagiac, Michigan.
