Richard Lee Wade Sr., 73, of Buchanan, MI, departed this life on Friday, August 30, 2013, at the home of his daughter, Lynn Wade. Born on July 8, 1940, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Ruth and Andrew Wade, Richard lived most of his life in Buchanan, MI.

Richard was a 1958 graduate of Buchanan High School. Richard retired from Simplicity Pattern of Niles, Mich., in 2002 after 30 years of service.

Richard was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Wade; son, Richard Lee Wade Jr. (Clizia) and former wife, Linnie Wade; three grandchildren: Richard Lee Wade III, Xavier Wade and Ananda Lewis; sister, Ruth Mayo (Henry); and brother, Mitchell Thompson as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Andrew Wade and Ruth Wade Thompson; step father: Clifford Thompson, Sr.; siblings: Sue Thompson, Rita Thompson, Cletha Dungey, Andrew Wade, Dexter Wade and Clifford (Peter) Thompson Jr., and a daughter; Rene Leann Wade.

A visitation will be held at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle, 945 Chippewa Street, Buchanan, MI, 49107 on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 am. A “Home Going Celebration” will take place at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00 am.  Immediately following the “Home Going Celebration”, burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.

Donations may be made to the Richard Wade memorial fund set up at Fifth Third Bank in lieu of flowers.
