Louise A. Williamson, 81, of Dowagiac, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac.

Louise was born on Nov. 10, 1931, in Dowagiac, to James William and Mildred (Wittenbrook) Urick.

On May 10, 1986, she married William Williamson in Niles.

Louise attended Southwestern Michigan College, where she earned her L.P.N. degree.

She was a life-long resident of Dowagiac. Louise proudly served her country as a member of the U.S. Air Force.

She loved art, cooking and traveling. Louise enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she loved to share historical events.

Louise is survived by: her five children, Kevin (Patsy) Silvia, of Arlington, Va., Joseph (Jo) Silvia, of Dowagiac, James (Judy) Silvia of Dowagiac, Karen(Larry) Kijak, of Elkhart, Ind., and Mary (Craig) Jerz of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, Debbie, Jon, Lisa, Allen, Mason, Chris, Kimberly, Danielle, Jason, Joey and Justin; 15 great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Dorilou Knoll of Decatur and Norma Rogers of Saginaw; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Urick of Americus, Ga.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, William Williamson; her twin brother, Lewis Urick; and her half-sister, Evelyn Morris.

Visitation will be rom 5 to 8 p.m.on Thursday, Sept. 5, at Yazel and Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorials may be made to Cass County Animal Shelter.
