Dowagiac soccer falls to Marcellus

Visiting Marcellus got two goals from Niels Verleum and Dallas Carr in a 6-1 victory over Dowagiac Tuesday.

The Wildcats built a 3-1 halftime lead on the Chieftains.

Tony Solis scored the lone Dowagiac goal in the 29th minute off an assist from Jorge Ruiz.

Marcellus outshot the Chieftains 16-8. Harpeet Singh had 10 saves for Dowagiac.

“Despite the score, the guys are doing better every game,” Dowagiac coach Mike Williams said. “We were physically outmatched against a veteran Marcellus Team.  We are Looking forward to tomorrow’s game against Comstock.”
