Rangers eliminated in semifinals

Host Cassopolis reached the semifinals of its own invitational before bowing out Saturday.

The Rangers finished second in the White Pool, which included New Buffalo and Eau Claire.

Michigan Lutheran captured the Blue Pool, which also had River Valey and Climax-Scotts.

In the quarterfinals, River Valley defeated Eau Claire and Cassopolis defeated Climax-Scotts.

New Buffalo knocked off River Valley in the Blue Pool semifinal, while Michigan Lutheran defeated Cassopolis in the White Pool semifinal.

New Buffalo went on to defeat Michigan Lutheran to claim the tournament championship.

In pool play, the Rangers defeated Benton Harbor Countryside 25-5 and 25-6, split with New Buffalo 7-25 and 25-23 and defeated Eau Claire 25-18, 25-16.

In the quarterfinals, Cassopolis defeated Climax-Scotts 25-13, 13-25 and 15-5.

Michigan Luthern eliminated the Rangers in the semiifinals 25-19 and 25-13.
