Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: Berrien County armed robbery

This is Det./Sgt. Fred Laesch of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department for Crime Stoppers. The crime of the week comes from the files of the Benton Township Police Department.

On Aug. 21, at approximately 5:52 p.m., an unknown subject entered the Approved Cash Advance located at 1968 Mall Place, in Benton Township. The unknown subject produced a large black handgun and demanded money. The unknown subject exited the business on foot with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect is described as a white female with long brown hair in a ponytail, approximately 20-25 years old, approximately 5-foot-6, wearing a blue hoodie with a white tiger emblem on the left chest area.

Crime Stoppers wants the person or persons responsible for this robbery and will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest. Crime Stoppers also pays cash rewards on other felony crimes and the capture of fugitives.
