Cassopolis Public School announced that Board of Education member Janet Hall had resigned, effective Monday.
The district has already begun the process of replacing Hall, who was appointed to the board in 2006, replacing Kevin Richardson, who had resigned.
She won re-election in 2006 and again in 2009.
Whomever replaces Hall will serve on the board from September until November 2014.
“Janet has always been a pleasure to work with as a board member,” Cassopolis Superintendent Tracy Hertsel said. “She brought many years of experience to the board. She thought outside of the box, but always kept the best interest of the students in mind. Her integrity as a board member will be missed.”
Applications are available on the district’s website (www.cassopolis.k12.mi.us) or at the main office located in the Squires Education Center at 725 Center St.
Complete applications must be returned no later than Sept. 6 at noon. Completed forms can be sent to cmartynowicz@cassopolis.org or by fax at 445-0505.
Candidates must attend the regular board meeting Sept. 9 for brief interviews. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Squires Education Center.
The board will fill the vacancy at a special meeting Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. Once appointed, the new board member will be sworn into office.
