Rosa Mae Cantrell, 83

Rosa Cantrell, 83, of Dowagiac, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Lakeland Hospital in Niles.

She was born on Dec. 9, 1929, in Frost, La., to the late Metz and Maggie (Rainey) Lee.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Paul Cantrell; parents; grandson, Jerry Cantrell Jr.; and two brothers, Hollis “Butch” Lee and AJ Lee.

Rosa is survived by: two sons, Jerry (Judy) Cantrell of Dowagiac and Charles (Cindy) Cantrell of Eau Claire; two daughters, Shirley (Bob) Linn and Sylvia (Rob) Moon, both of Dowagiac; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Wilma Blunt and Billie Lott, both of Walker, La.

She enjoyed sewing, reading, putting puzzles together and working church activities, but the most joy she got out of life was spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel.

Services to honor Rosa’s life will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Keeler Church of God, 61789 County Road 687, Dowagiac. Pastor Boyd Saylor will be officiating the services.
