Florence R Taylor-Riggs, 91, of Niles, Mich., formerly of Elkhart, passed from this life on July 23, 2013 after an extended illness in Silverbrook Nursing Home.

Florence was born in Obion, Tennessee to Eva and Richard Bailey on Aug. 28, 1921.
She leaves to cherish her memory her only son DeVon “Vern” (Pastor Cecelia) Goodrich, Grandchildren; Pastor Dreama Coleman, Elder Phillip (Shirley) Jackson, DeVon Jr. (Kathleen) Goodrich, of Elkhart, Bradley Goodrich of California, Kim Pittman formerly of South Bend and Lamont Hansbourgh of Elkhart along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Eva and Richard Bailey, Hobart (Scooby) Riggs and her siblings: Ethel Audrey King, Howard Stewart, Shug Stewart, Wesley Bailey, Georgia Thomas, Ruth Ivory and Luella Chavis in addition to a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hartzler –Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where the Home-going Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tues., July 30, 2013. Burial will follow the funeral at Rice Cemetery. Elder Phillip Jackson will officiate.
