BUCHANAN — Emma Dora Cox-Burton, 81, of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Riveridge Manor in Niles of natural causes.

Emma was born March 7, 1932 in Larmar, Miss., to Arthur & Archie Belle (Humphreys) McKinney.  She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ in Buchanan.

On Dec. 27, 1950 in Slayden, Miss., she married Tommie Cox, who preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1989.  On Nov. 30, 1996 in Buchanan, she then married Willie Burton, who also preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2007.

Surviving family include her sons, Tommie (Lisa) Cox of Chicago, Ervin (Diane) Cox and Carl (Vanessa) Cox, both of Buchanan; daughter, Christy (Michael) Cox of Buchanan; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Arthur McKinney, Jr. of Chicago, William Lee McKinney of Clarksdale, Miss., and Archie Lee McKinney of Slayden, Miss.; and sisters, Helen Franklin of Richton Park, Ill, Bessie (Grady) Burton of Benton Harbor and Catherine (Lenzie) Cox of Niles.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ, Buchanan, with Pastor Hayes Taylor officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, also in the church.  Burial will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
