SCHOOLCRAFT — The Niles 13-14 All-Stars captured the Michigan Little League District 15 championship with a 13-1 win over host Schoolcraft Tuesday.

Gavin Rasler was the wining pitcher for the All-Stars with relief help from Noah Frantz. Rasler worked out of a jam early in the game when Schoolcraft loaded the bases with no outs. He struck out the next batter and then got an inning-ending double play.

Seth Brown had a key lead-off triple in the third inning for Niles, which got two doubles and two RBIs from both Tyler Phillips and Rasler.

Zach Plummer added two hits and three RBIs.

The All-Stars finished with 15 hits in the five-inning contest.

Niles will now take part in the Sectional Saturday at South Portage. The Sectional winner advances to the state tournament to be held in White Lake beginning July 27.
