Citizen tip leads to Niles drug bust

A citizen complaint led to the arrest of a Niles teenager allegedly caught by police with $750 worth of marijuana at his residence.

Devon Noah-George Osban, 18, was arrested by officers of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 2700 block of Adams Road in Niles Township.

Officers were executing a search warrant for illegal narcotics. The warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit after the Berrien County Sheriff Department had received citizen complaints of suspected narcotic activity at this residence.

During a search, deputies located and seized approximately $750 worth of marijuana. The deputies also located and seized other evidence of illegal narcotic trafficking.

Osban is being lodged at the Berrien County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver second offense, pending arraignment.

Five other adults at the residence were released with no criminal charges being sought against them.
