Darren L. Suran was born in South Bend, Ind., on May 16, 1965. He is survived by his parents Dar and Marsca (Carter) Suran, his sister Melissa (Suran) Richards and his nieces, Jaime and Jillian. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Darren graduated from Clay High School in 1984 and attended Ball State University for two years, before deciding to attend Alabama Aviation Technical Flight School, from which he graduated with an associate degree.
For the past 20 years, Darren was employed with Mercedes Benz of N.A. in Montvale, N.J., as a dealer parts service representative.
Darren will always be remembered as a true friend who was always willing to offer a helping hand. He was a loving big brother to his sister and adored his nieces, Jaime and Jillian.
He had a passion for NHL hockey and especially the New Jersey Devils.
He also liked college and NFL football, auto racing of all kinds and fishing.
He was also an excellent downhill skier and was thrilled when he went sky-diving. Darren was a member of the B.C.C.A.
We couldn’t have asked for a more loving and devoted son and brother.
After recent health problems and surgery, Darren passed away quickly from complications of liver cancer.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main St., Mishawaka, Ind., from 4 until 8 p.m. Friends will also be received on Thursday in the funeral chapel, one hour prior to the service, which will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Maynard Schoen and Pastor Mark Smith officiating.
Burial follows in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind.
