James D. Dye, 77
Born: Jan. 31, 1935
Died: March 29, 2012
James’ life began on Jan. 31, 1935, in South Bend, Ind., the son of Dewey E. and Catherine B. (Ehman) Dye.
He was united in marriage to Marilyn Weber at Christ the King Catholic Church in South Bend.
He was a tool and die maker at Adams Engineering.
James was a parishioner of Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church and a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul.
He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed gun and craft shows.
James is survived by: his wife Marilyn Dye of Dowagiac; children, Eileen (Jerry) Toney of Cassopolis, Karen (Dale) Jasper of St. Joseph, Patricia (David) Mather of Dowagiac, Shirley Larson of Dowagiac, James G. Dye of Texas and Helen Hartsell of Dowagiac; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Joann (Thomas) Frank of South Bend; a brother, Thomas (Christine) Dye of Indianapolis; and his brother-in-law, William T. Weber of South Bend.

James passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at his home. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. led by Father Kevin Covert.
He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger.
