Robert Tinkey Jr., 48, of Wolcottville, Ind., formerly of Dowagiac, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, in Indianapolis, Ind., at Methodist Hospital as a result of a massive heart attack.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1963, to Robert and Sylvia Tinkey in Coral Gables, Fla. He was a son, brother, father and grandfather, Army veteran and proud American.
He is survived by: his children, Candace (Greg) Younger; grandchildren, Ashton and Mason of Benton, Ill., Brock (Charlotte) Tinkey, grandson Dylan of Kalamazoo and Brenton Tinkey of Dowagiac; his fiancé, Sandy Brumbaugh of Wolcottville, her son Matthew (Kristen) Thomas, Austin, Isaac, Grace and David Thomas of Austin, Texas, his father Robert Tinkey of Bloomfield, Neb., brothers Richard of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Chris of Bloomfield and sisters Cindy (Larry) Raymond of Lawton, Cathy of Menomonie, Wis., Lisa (Mike) Skroch of Bloomfield,  Teresa Leonard of Benton, many aunts, uncles, cousins and special nieces and nephews Jason, Jeremy, Angel Hankins, Ben, Anna Skroch, Simone, Rachel Tinkey and 12 great nieces and nephews.
Preceding Bob in death are his mother, his paternal grandparents Milan and Waneta Carman, maternal grandparents Stanley and Grace Hawks, his aunt Suzanne Hawks and uncles Bill Tinkey and Jack Janssen and father-in-law, Fred Leonard.
His family will gather with friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Yazel and Clark with a memorial service at 1:30 p.m.  He will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac with full military honors. Sign his guestbook and leave a memory of Robert at www.yazel-clark.com.
