Margaret Marie Letcher, 95, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, in Hospice House, South Bend.

She was born Oct. 6, 1916, in Chicago to the late Henry J. and Lena (Leidy) Wickler. Mrs. Letcher retired from Sears in South Bend in 1985, after 35 years of service.

On Oct. 7, 1939, in Niles, she married Russell L. Letcher, who preceded her in death on May 16, 1987.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sheri A. (Neal) Garwood of South Bend; her son, Jerry L. (Joan) Letcher of Fond du Lac, Wis.; five grandchildren, Neal (Kathleen) Garwood, Jr. of South Bend, Eric (Jennifer) Garwood of St. Petersburg, Fla., Anne (Kevin) Renn of Noblesville, Ind., Christopher (Amy) Letcher of Sterling, Va., and Kathleen Letcher of Woodbridge, Va.; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 4, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
