In a surprising move this morning, Martell Miller has accepted a plea deal.

After the court spent all day Tuesday and Wednesday morning in the jury selection process for Miller’s trial, defense counsel and the prosecution announced they had reached an agreement.

Miller pleaded guilty to attempted assault with intent to cause great bodily harm less than murder, a five-year felony, and assault and battery, a misdemeanor.

All of his original charges have been dropped, including two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct and a count of extortion.

Miller and his co-defendants, in varying degrees of involvement, are accused of secretly videotaping in March a then 17-year-old girl having sex with one of them and threatening to post the video on Facebook unless she performed sex acts with them.
