David and Rita (Estaten) Hibinger are celebrating 50 years of marriage. They were married Oct. 21, 1961, in St. Peters Catholic Church. They were high school sweethearts, both graduating from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio.Rita retired from food service at Ballard Elementary School in Niles. David retired from Simplicity Pattern as a pressman in Niles. David also served in the U.S. Navy, when they first married.

The couple has five children, Deborah (Dvorak), Michael, James, Stephen and Joan (Suski). They have five grandchildren, Adam and Christine Dvorak, Brad Hibinger, and Spenser and Tyler Suski.
They celebrated their anniversary with their immediate family.
