Mary Jayne Healy, 76, of Niles, lost a long battle with cancer Dec. 2, 2011.
She was born in Niles to the late George and Emma (Larson) Fries.
Prior to marriage, she worked at the Healthwin Hospital, and for the VA in South Bend. She retired from Pawating (Lakeland of Niles) Hospital in the pharmacy department. She was of a military family. She was also a parishioner at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Niles. She enjoyed family vacations, antique engine shows, garage sales, active with the Boy and Girl Scouts, she was an Elvis Presley fan and she enjoyed her dogs. She was a hometown supporter, as well as a Relay for Life cancer supporter, and a life-long supporter of many charitable organizations throughout her life, including the MDA.
On Dec. 19, 1954, she married Keith I. Healy, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Ann Healy, and a son, Kevin Blair Healy.
Surviving are two daughters, Pam (Paul) Miltenberger and Colleen (Dale) Barts; and one son, Shawn (Emie) Healy; five grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth Healy, Ian Deyber, Emily and Zachary Barts; and one great-granddaughter, Hailie.
Funeral services will be held on Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Niles.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the church.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Niles.
