To the editor:

Regarding Fred Upton’s explanation of the super committee’s failure to do anything for the American people again, I challenge every person reading this to find one statement of substance, one fact, one phrase that rises above the blah, blah, blah of party politics. You won’t because Fred isn’t capable of anything of substance.
He’s a rich, corporate (Whirlpool) party ideologue who long ago lost his sense of what is to be a true representative of all the people. Oh, his staff will help you out; they’re good at that and we’re grateful.  But please answer this — what has Fred Upton done for Cass County in his 28 years of “service?” What has he done for this country?
His only bills to become law are Yucca Mountain (which was revoked) and media pornography fines. Wow, impressive.
It’s time for a new representative for southwest Michigan and Cass County, one that serves all the people and will vote his or her conscience, not the party line.
