Nathan Neilson, 55
Nathan Wayne Neilson, 55, died on Tuesday Nov. 22, 2011, at his home after a long illness with his wife by his side.
Nathan was born in Niles, but considered Tallahassee his hometown, where he was adopted into a large loving family of in-laws and “outlaws.” There, he took great pride in being a husband, a dad and a wonderful friend to many. He was also very proud of his trade as a pipefitter and was highly skilled in his craft. He greatly respected those who shared in this occupation. His generosity, and ever-present, unique sense of humor established friendships wherever he went. He was one of a kind and a fighter until the end.
Nathan is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, whom he loved with all of his heart, Sug Moore Neilson; his three “babies,” Zachary Lyons, Rebecca Neilson and Emily Neilson; and his two beautiful grandbabies, Madellyn Lyons and Katie Squillace.
Nathan also leaves behind an extensive Michigan family to include Edna (Denny), Linda (Ray), Rita (Ted), Michael, Roy, Jr. and Dean (Roy) and Lori Ann (deceased).
He is preceded by his beloved father, Ejner Neilson and father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Dell Moore.
Our family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Adekunle Omotayo and his staff as well as Big Bend Hospice for their care and support of our family.
An intimate memorial service will be held at a future date at home for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
