MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Bethel College opened up Mid-Central College Conference play with a 71-58 win over Spring Arbor Tuesday night.

Bethel (8-1, 1-0 WCC) led 28 23 at halftime and then outscored Spring Arbor (2-5, 0-1) 43-35 in the second half to pull away for the easy victory.

Laura Johnson and Ashlee Ort both scored 16 points to lead the Pilots.

Former Niles standout Basia Cox had three points, while Dowagiac’s Katy Stuppy had two points.
