Michiana’s oldest race was held Monday at Southwestern Michigan College.

The 45th Annual Turkey Trot had four divisions — high school, SMC students, SMC faculty and community.

Edwardsburg’s Aubrey Ritchey, winner of a Lakeland Conference championship and a state cross country qualifier as a freshman, captured the girls’ ninth grade award with a time of 21:24.

Three members of the St. Joseph cross country team, which finished second at the recently held state finals, picked up age division titles. They were Chuck Felton (10th grade), Ryan Leahy (11th grade) and Nick Whise (12th grade).

Among SMC students, Jessie Sebastian (Dowagiac) and David Dutthinh (Flint) captured the 3K walk titles, while Kimberly VanShoick (Marcellus) and Caleb Adams (Niles) won the 5K run titles.

Diana Clark (Dowagiac) and Nick Mustak (Elkhart, Ind.) captured the 3K walk for SMC faculty. Kim Luthringer (Dowagiac) and Dave Dilno (Kalamazoo) were the 5K run winners.
