Douglas L. Heiermann, 38 of Granger, Ind., died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, in Youngstown, Ohio.

He was born Jan. 3, 1973, in Niles. Douglas was a lineman with AEP for the past four years and was on assignment in Youngstown, Ohio when he died. He loved the outdoors and most especially riding his Harley Davidson.
On July 26, 1997, in Buchanan he married his high school sweetheart, Tabitha Schrader, who survives along with a daughter, Meadow Heiermann, 9, and a son, Jared Heiermann, 12, both at home. Other survivors include his mother, Sheila Young Blair, of Niles; a sister, Julie Heiermann; and a brother, James Heiermann, both of Niles; stepsister, Angie (Jerry) Wagley, of Niles; and six nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 17, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Swem Chapel in Buchanan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Buchanan Christian Church with Pastor Barry Thornton officiating. The church is located at 112 W. Third St., Buchanan.
