Patricia Ann Garcia, 72, of South Third Street in Niles, died at 8:35 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo., unexpectedly, but of natural causes.
Mrs. Garcia was born May 31, 1939, in Lakeview, Mich. to Weldon and Betty Jean (Johnson) Lamb. She graduated from Lakeview High School and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central Michigan University. She moved to Niles in 1967. Patricia was a retired teacher and guidance counselor at Brandywine High School and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
Patricia was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was active with the choir and Sunday school. She was an avid tennis player and was a coach for Brandywine High School. She enjoyed sewing.
Mrs. Garcia was married to Dudley Joseph Garica, who survives. She is also survived by their twin sons, Scott (Susan) Garcia and Steven Garcia, both of Aspen, Colo.; grandchildren, Dawson, Ryan and Grace Garcia; brothers, Randy Lamb of Edmore, Mich. and Gary Lamb of Remus, Mich.
Funeral services for Patricia Ann Garcia will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward H. Slate of the church officiating.
Interment will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles. The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. Contributions in memory of Patricia may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
