Nancy Faye Corwin, 78, of Dowagiac, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in St. Joseph.
Nancy was born on Oct. 16, 1932, in Dowagiac, to the late Oral and Ruth (Byers) Barnes.
She was a 1950 graduate of Dowagiac Central High School.
On Sept. 20, 1951, she married Louis S. Corwin, who preceded her in death on May 12, 2011.
Nancy was a member of the Van Buren Region Genealogy Society.  She was an avid genealogist for 30 years and published several cemetery record books.
She is survived by her children, Bruce (Sandy) Corwin of Decatur, Dean (Dolly) Corwin, Judy (James) Sweet, Dale Corwin and Scott (Melissa) Corwin, all of Dowagiac; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, Nancy is also preceded in death by a son Gary Corwin, daughter-in-law Linda Corwin, sister Dorothy Wallace and brother Lester Barnes.
Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
She will be laid to rest in Hamilton Cemetery at a later date.
