CASSOPOLIS — Mark A. Tharp, 53, of Cassopolis, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac.

He was born Aug. 30, 1958, in Niles to Lloyd and Joy (Evans) Tharp.
Mark is survived by: his mother, Joy Tharp of Phoenix, Ariz.; father, Lloyd Tharp of the Upper Peninsula; three sisters, Melody (Richard) Haskell and Grace (Steve) Brabon, both of Dowagiac, and Faith (Rich) Bojtanek of Phoenix, Ariz.; and special foster caregiver Ruby Eddings of Vandalia.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hope Tharp and Martha Kalman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.
Services will be on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m. in the old chapel of Mission Hills Memorial Gardens followed by interment.
