‘American Chillers’ creator in Cass Oct. 17

Johnathan Rand has written 66 books since 2000, with more than 4 million copies in print.

CASSOPOLIS — Johnathan Rand, author of the American Chillers series, will be giving a presentation at Cass District Library on Monday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m.
Book signing and light refreshments follow his presentation.
Books will be available for purchase before and after the program, courtesy of Lowry’s Books and More.
Cass District Library is located at 319 M-62 North.
Rand’s books include a series called American Chillers and a series called Michigan Chillers, which are geared for children aged 7-13.
He has also written a series for younger readers, entitled Freddie Fernortner, Fearless First Grader.
His books have become a phenomenon among young readers, with more than 4 million copies in print.
Rand travels frequently, speaking to children about the value of reading and writing. Michigan PTA President Barbara Blanchard dubbed Rand the “Anthony Robbins of children’s literacy.”
Rand says, “My message for kids is clear: if you can read well and write well, you can do anything you want in life.”
Since 2000, Rand has penned 66 books and spoken at more than 2,000 schools and libraries.
