PORTAGE — The Niles freshmen football team improved to 6-0 with a 38-6 victory over host Portage Northern Thursday night.

The Vikings led 8-0 after one quarter and only 8-6 at halftime. Niles outscored the Huskies 30-0 in the second half to pull out the victory.

“I felt that we came off the ball hard in the second half and played with some emotion,” Niles coach Jim Meyer said.

The defense was led by Jordon Ham, Adam Langmeyer and Charles Kemp.

The offensively line of Spencer Fuller, Cody Thornton, Wyatt Thornton and Anthony Younger played well.
