ALLEGAN — The Dowagiac freshmen volleyball team defeated Allegan Thursday night 2-1.

The Chieftains beat the Tigers 23-25, 25-22 and 15-2.

“The girls fought through all three games,” Dowagiac coach Ann O’Keefe said.

Leela Smith-Ferrier had six aces and one block for a kill. Amanda Badner had three kills and a block for a kill, while Mary Magin and Jessica Ausra both finished with four aces.

Rosadio Murray added three aces.
