The Dowagiac JV football team put a whooping on visiting Allegan Thursday night, 47-8.

Davion Highsmith tossed three touchdown passes, including a pair to Dean Klann. Highsmith also called his own number for a touchdown on the quarterback keeper as well as an interception.

Klann finished with 110  yards receiving.

Shane Beavins had three rushing touchowns for the Chieftains, who also got scoring reception from Nate Lindsey.

“We had a very good team effort,” Dowagiac coach Matt Alward said. “It started with the line up front controling the line of scrimmage.”

Dowagiac will travel to Comstock Thursday night.
